Parents Literacy & Leadership Project
Leading Girls & Young Women To Leadership and Literacy
The MOMS In Tech Literacy & Leadership Initiative develops state-of-the-art programs combining creativity, connection, and technology to introduce STEM for exploration and media literacy as a way of prevention and intervention. The media and technology based platform are heavily distributing hyper sexualized content to women and girls - especially in the Black and urban communities. As a result, young women are especially vulnerable to lower self-esteem as well as the damage caused by inappropriate behaviors. Additionally, misleading messages about their place in society, career choices, and negative peer pressures lead Black women and girls to a lower quality of life and detrimental gateways. Our objective is to intervene, by introducing them to broader employment options, media & STEM literacy along with leadership to help their personal and professional development and encourage them to use technology and media productively and safely. We want to create a wider platform for this important human capital initiative and need the support that will allow us to expand and reach more girls and moms.

Our Mission
Giving Girls And Moms Healthier & Safer Choices In Order For Them To Thrive. Let us change the narrative and bring balance to what is being presented to vulnerable populations of girls and young women who are at risk of falling through the cracks because of peer influence, lack of knowledge, and lack of exposure. They often model bad behavior after negative images of themselves they see through daily doses of popular social media, and marketing messages. We want to help mothers and their children come together. |
