GRANDMOTHERS MATTER
Grandmothers In Tech , Exploration & Entrepreneurship GITEE
At the Work It Well Project we believe that intergenerational wellness is a keystone of healthy families, and that is why we have developed the Grandmothers in Tech, Exploration & Entrepreneurship initiative. This program is designed for older adults to build skills in technology- especially important during the Covid-19 pandemic, where so much of our personal and professional connections happen online. The GITEE program goals include computer competency that ranges from basic skills to advancing a career path that strengthens income potential. Simultaneously this program bolsters diversity in the Tech industry, training older women who offer an incredible amount of experience and wisdom to companies. Funding will allow us to grow our partnerships, provide the most up to date curriculum, and outreach to more grandmothers who are ready to gain new skills and make a difference.

All grandmothers matter to us. We want all grandmothers healthy, economically empowered, up to speed and inspired to win for them and their generation. GITEE is a unique initiative where old and young grandmothers unite and participate in an empowerment program. Our objective is to unite & inspire vulnerable populations of young and innovative grandmothers with skills development, economic empowerment, health wellness, resources and keeping them up to speed of today's fast growing elements that can keep them, and their families, healthy, economically empowered and safe. We are introducing grandmothers raising their grandchildren and young and older grandmothers, to technology career exploration and entrepreneurship as a supplement, along with coaching and mentoring around their health, wellness, barrier replacement, Covid-19 and more. We want to make grandmothers great again by helping them reach their goals, while helping our leaders who have fallen behind or may fall through cracks in a society that under appreciates our elders.
“Our Grandmothers In Tech & Entrepreneurship Living Well (GITTY) has provided direct services to young and old grandmothers. One woman who went through our program returned to the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom and grandmother. We gave her the job training and professional development skills, including technology skill-building, to be relevant for today’s modern workplace.”
