Work It Well Arts, Film, Music, Culture & Leadership
We understand the relationship between engagement with the creative arts and health outcomes, specifically the health effects of music and film engagement, visual arts therapy, movement-based creative expression, and expressive writing. There is evidence that art-based interventions are effective in reducing violence, adverse physiological and psychological outcomes. We incorporated feature arts and culture throughout our programming that we offer. Our founder is an influential member of the music and entertainment community of 36 years and strongly believes that arts and community work hand and hand. We pair arts, culture, music and film with leadership by empowering participants with leadership skills and artistic experiences that help build community, bring awareness, prevention and intervention and promote community wellness. |
Our programs use the arts to transform lives and provide a safe space for artists to stay healthy, express themselves and get educated with well-rounded knowledge to support their artistic and life endeavors. We encourage our clients to listen to healthy music that inspires, while having a life of creativity and to use their artistic talent as leaders. We also use the arts and entertainment to reach people for causes, fundraising and to make a positive impact in the community. Pre-pandemic, we produced concerts, a yearly arts festival, and other arts and culture programming for the community of Alameda county and beyond.
“A client was headed on the track of taking an education scholarship for granted. He was allowing his love for the arts to override his ability to take on the scholarship and apply it to education and the usage of arts as a part of an occupational skill. Once he came through our program, we were able to introduce other opportunities to him in the field of Art Therapy that he could use as a career option to help change lives, use his arts and make a dynamic salary.”
